U.S. Top 25 Leaders

US News posted a special report entitled "America's Best Leaders" with profiles and stories of the top 25 leaders in America. My initial thoughts were: In a land of more than 250 million people, are these the best leaders that we have? I strongly agree with the selection of a few individuals who made it to the list and remain ambivalent on most individuals on the list. Ultimately, while I may not agree with the positions or values of certain individuals, it doesn't necessary mean that they are bad leaders in my mind. But I simply baffled by Condoleezza Rice's appearance on the list - I don't think I agree with her values or policies, nor do I think that she's a good leader. Can someone tell me what positive impact she made in the last 5 years (yes this is one of the criteria in the selection process)? Where is Rudy Giuliani and John McCain? Why aren't they on the list?

These types of lists are just discussion fodder, don't take them too seriously ;) Also remember that sometimes leaders are great within their organizations and no one knows: this could be the case with Condi (not my favorite leader either).

Now you do not understand what leadership really is. Anyone, who gets to be nominated to VP is a leader, but only when nominated, not before. By the same token, any moron who gets to be a member of the government (secretary of X) is a leader - but only for the time he is secretary of X. It is so simple. This
explains why past mayors are not leaders anymore.

This is the reason, why all "leadership experts", who lecture to us in SDM are just
loysy name droppers. They are leaders, and know of leadership, just because
of their (past) positions.

Note, that president of USA is not a leader, nor is his speec-writer/srting puller
Mr. Rove. Or any of the senators of members of the gongress. So sad.

Really, Rove, Cheney, and Bush must be on the TOP-25 leaders list. Their leadership caused USA to wage illegal war in Iraq. They are supreme leaders.
