Fung Wah Indicted

Two weeks ago, I cited the Fung Wah bus rollover on a highway ramp in Auburn, MA on this blog. Not surprisingly, one of the passengers is now filing a lawsuit against the bus company.

Also, the Washington Post has written an article questioning the safety of curbside buses, so-called "Chinatown buses."

These buses are a menace. i noticed that on a visit i paid at that place a couple of months ago. something must be done in the form of safety regulations/

No my friend!!! buses and other means of public transportation are the hope for a cleaner air and less road accidents. the more people use buses and less private cars, the better air you will breathe. So we should encourage the use of buses and trains mainly in places like china where environmental problems are becoming severe more and more

But that doesnt mean the bus companies can behave as if the road belongs to them. There are many buses going through my neighborhood every day. There was a time they drove like lunatics. the neighborhood council filed a couple of complains threatening a law suit and like magic they began driving morre safely. I have kids and their safety is more important to me than environmental issues on world scale!

In my neighborhood we drove away the buses. we filed a petition and the city banned public transport vehicles from entering the area. life then became so much more quiet and peaceful
