Coinage of the term "globalization"

These days, we hear the term "" mentioned frequently in almost aspect of our life. But has anyone wondered about the originality of the term. Well, as reported by the Boston Globe, , who coined the term, has died. According to the article:

"Levitt first used the term 'globalization' in a 1983 Harvard Business Review article about the emergence of standardized, low-priced consumer products. He defined that globalization as the changes in social behaviors and technology which allowed companies to sell the same products around the world."

The term "globalization" has already appeared in the 1960's . Scholars defined the political and business world as one unit connected to a central nerve system.
Yet globalization was also seen in the beginning of the 20th century and some say that back then the world was even more interconnected then it is today. of course world war 1 brought it all to a quick end. From that we can learn that although we live in a global world, there is no guarantee that business globalization will preserve world peace.
